No patience!!

I'm telling ya, I have zero patience!  I'm working on some stuff for Chase and Lindsay's baby shower and Rick had to remind me "it's not for another month, you don't have to do everything all at once."  But I want to!  It's fun!  I made a prototype mini diaper cake last night.  I plan to do a few of these for the shower as centerpieces.  The blue moose is actually Matthew's and it's just a prop.  I'm going to get some frogs (and maybe a duck) for the finished products.  Oh and the pizza pan was just my work space, the finished products will be on something a little more decorative, lol.

I can't wait for the shower, it's gonna be so much fun!    I've got Reese so many cute little outfits already, I can't wait to show Chase & Lindsay!

By the way, the shower is March 18th at 3pm.  Invites will be going out soon but I just figured I'd mention it now.  They are registered at Burlington now but I think they will be starting one at Wal-Mart soon too.

As for the rest of the family, we're all hanging in there.  Matthew is still snuffly and I took him back to see Wendy (the NP) yesterday just to make sure his ears were cleared up.  They are (for the most part) but she heard a slight wheeze in his lungs so he's on nebulizer treatments until that clears up.  Poor little boy coughs so hard but is still a pretty happy guy.  He sings now which is hilarious.  He's so much fun!

Cailyn is a rascal, have I ever mentioned that?  She dumped her entire cup of chocolate milk on her head a little bit ago.  Why?  Because she saw chocolate on the bottom of the cup and thought she should shake it up above her head to mix it.  "MAMA, I fweeeeeeeezing now!!  I need a BAFFFF!!!"  Hey, at least she got a bath, I guess!

Emily went shopping with Lindsay and I on Sunday.  She is obsessed with *the mall*.  She always wants to go to *the mall*.  She has no clue what *the mall* is but apparently in her 7 yr old mind, *the mall* is the place to be.  So I had to go to Macy's, which happens to be in *the mall*.  She was so excited...until she realized that that's all we were doing, just going to Macy's...not actually going into *the mall*.  "What?!  That's it?  That wasn't *the mall*, that's not what I wanted to do!!  This sucks!  This is the worst day of my life."  Yes folks, she's 7...s.e.v.e.n...not 17.    So then we had to stop at Wal-Mart and I bought her a gumball machine and life was all good again.  Ahh the simple things in life.    LOL

Just a little note...doing a nebulizer treatment on a squirmy 4 month old while trying to stop two 3 yr olds from jumping on the couch and blogging at the same time should only be attempted by professionals.  Lucky for me, I know how to fake it...and a handful of tootsie rolls helps too.

Alex is finished with his mid-terms.  He thinks he did well, I guess we'll find out when the report comes home.  He now off of his penguins and pokemon kick and onto Fingerboarding.  What's that, you ask?  This.  Or if you can't access that for some reason, go here.  He's been collecting Tech Deck "dudes" for a few years but now he's actually making ramps and things for the boards.  I bought him a couple the other day and I'm tellin ya, I haven't seen $6 make a kid so happy in all my life.

Well, it's taken me close to two hours to write this entry...I guess I'll close now and try and get some housework done.  I doubt my cling-on baby will let me do it without him so who knows how much I'll actually get done!

Bronchitis, pneumonia and a virus...oh my!

Yup, everyone's sick here at the Warren house.  I've got bronchitis and some nasty GI virus.  Matthew has an ear infection--his first...boohoo!!  Cailyn has *almost* pneumonia, meaning if I'd let it go one more day we would've ended up with chest xrays and all that fun stuff.  So needless to say, we're just one big happy snotty mess.    My poor little baby, he tries so hard to breathe but his little nose is all stuffed up.  And MAN does he hate the booger sucker!  I can't say that I blame him though, I'd hate it too!

Em has been giving me a hard time lately and even moreso now that Rick is out of town.  She's his little princess and she knows it.  She was very sad last night when I put her to bed--see that's been Daddy's job the past few months and she doesn't like when I do it.

Alex got his "new" skateboard yesterday.  I say "new" bc he bought it off a friend at school.  To me, it looks like a hunk of junk but to him it's the greatest thing in the world.  Whatever, lol.  I don't claim to be an expert in skateboarding so I'll just let him be happy with it for now.  I'll try to get some pics of him with it to show everyone.

You'd never know that lil Red was sick.  She's running around like a little tornado, just like normal.  Her and Katelynne are "reading" books to each other at the moment.  They have completely trashed the LR--blocks, cars, puzzle pieces all over the floor.  I've been holding a sleepy sick little boy so I haven't been able to stop them.  They can have their fun right now...just wait until I put this baby down though!!

Ugh, they've just escaped up the stairs and that is never ever a good thing.  I've got some pics to post but they'll have to wait until later.

Just another manic Monday

Happy Monday...ha ha, that's funny!

It's so cold out!  The little ones and I finally got out of the house for the first time in almost 2 wks this past weekend and we about froze our tushies off!  12 degrees?!!  Who is in charge of this weather stuff?  He needs a talkin' to!  Matthew hates being bundled up and hates his car seat so put those two together and you've got one ticked off little man!  Plus the batteries to his mirror/lights thingy stopped working (bc of the cold!) and he wasn't all that happy with that either.  He loves that thing!  Oh well, I guess that's what we get for living in NY, huh?

So needless to say, the three of us are pretty happy to be home today where we can kick the heat up a notch or two (even though I hate to do it) if we get too cold.  I've got my nice warm oatmeal and nice hot coffee to keep me warm too, lol.  I feel for all of you who have to dredge out in this nasty coldness every day...yuck yuck yuck!!

Rick got word on Saturday that he will be going to Ohio later this week for a few days.  I'm sure he's more excited about it than he's letting on due to the fact that he'll have a bed all to himself for once!  LOL!  He seems to think that he *needs* to take my laptop with him...ya know, so he won't get bored, but I'm not so sure I agree with him about that.  I told him to take a book with him.    Yeah I know I've got the desktop computer but how it's just not the same!  Me and my laptop are best buddies, we've been thru a lot together!!  I'll miss it...oh yeah, I'll miss Rick too of course.

I had to dig out the tub of bigger clothes (6 mos and up) for Matthew this morning.  I put a one-piece outfit on him this morning (size 3-6 mos) and the legs only just covered his chubby little knees!  He's so long!!  I swear I can hear him growing while he's nursing, it's insane!  It's so much different than when Cailyn was a baby!  I should try to find a pic of her at this age and compare the two of them.

Christopher (Jr) stayed with us this past weekend.  That kid is so stinkin' funny, some of the stories he told me had me laughing so hard!  He's such a good kid though, I love having him around.  Cailyn adores him; her "Buddy" and asked if he could live with us forever.  To her, it's like having two big brothers to play with and that cater to her every whim, what could be better than that?!

I picked up the yarn to make Reese's (spelling still undecided yet but for now we're going with that) baby afghan.  I got pale lilac
and baby pink.  The lilac (soft mauve) looks yucky on the screen but it's really pretty in real life.  I'm think I'm going to make it just like I made Matthew's.  Like this.  I'm not going to make it quite as big though.  I can't wait to wrap her up in it and snuggle her!

Hope everyone who is reading this is having a great day!  Make sure you leave comments so that I know who is reading this!

Today is...

Friday at last, thank God!

Cailyn woke up with a slight fever and was coughing but she seems better now after some Tylenol.  Her and Katelynne are playing in the living room.  Her throat is doing much better; I'm sure it's pretty much all healed up now.  She isn't begging me for medicine all day long now so I'll take that as a good sign.  She slept much better last night, only woke up a couple times.  Hopefully this weekend we can get her back into her own bed!

Matthew is congested again, but nothing major.  Rick got the humidifier going last night so hopefully that will help.  He's such a happy little boy though, even when his little nose is all stuffed up he still smiles away at anyone who pays him any attention.  Right now he's sitting on my lap playing with my necklace starting to get a little antsy for some breakfast.

Alex is doing his mid-terms at school the next few weeks.  He normally does very well on tests so I think he'll get good scores on these, as long as he keeps his mind focused.  He's got a book report due at the end of the month that he hasn't even started yet...yeah he's a procrastinator just like me!

Em was a turd this morning.  She got up on time and came downstairs to take her shower but stopped to play with Matthew on the way.  Then she took one of her looong drawn out showers...then played with him again...then "oh man, Mom!!  I don't have time to eat my breakfast now!"  She wasn't all that impressed that I wouldn't let her stay home from school so she could eat breakfast.  I told her she'd have to *suffer* thru breakfast at school today.

Here are a few pics that are from the past week or so, enjoy and thanks for reading!

They were all sitting on my feet here, silly kids!!

Bros, hanging out playing Nintendogs together...

Snuggling on the floor, Cailyn wasn't feeling well

3 months old and blowing raspberries for my mama!
